Studies
In 1989, Paolo
approached to music studying jazz and
contemporary guitar w/ Giampiero
Martirani (Italian jazz guitar master and musician).
Studies on guitar
continued until
In 1999, Paolo went deep in the study of contemporary music and
ear-trainings practice w/ the guitarist Donovan
Mixon (from
Double-bass and
electric upright studying w/ Glauco Zuppiroli (jazz artist) and Enrico
Lazzarini (Vinicio Capossela).
Performance as a bassist
Paolo has been a mainstay on the Bologna (IT) rock scene from 1990 to
by the rock-singer Fabio Biondi, playing in live performance and/or
co-producing songs and recordings.
In 1999, something changed and the professional career got started.
Paolo joined some important bands and founded one, travelling all around
In 1999, he founded the ‘Quarti Di Bue’ rock-blues band. From 1999 to
2004 he played in live concerts with Graziano
Romani and The Soul Drivers (black music),
Blues Bar(k) (blues), XXL (pop-rock), Quarti di Bue (rock-blues), and
got live gigs with many other bands.

In this period Paolo was honoured to work (in live concerts and/or in
studio recordings) with a lot of important musicians as

singer and composer), Max Cottafavi (guitarist, Ligabue, Clan Destino),

Ligabue, Clan Destino, CSI, MandalaVallis), Daniele Dall’Omo (guitarist
and composer, Paolo Conte),
In 2005 Paolo moved to the country-rock European scene starting playing
w/ Dobro Country Rock
Band.
He has played in two European tours w/
Dobro and recorded for the last CD of the band ‘Drinks&Strings’,
released on July 2005.
In September 2006 he joined the Gold Rush acoustic trio,
and from December 2006 up to August 2007
he toured with Music Trend rock
cover band, performing on best stages all over
On October 2007 Paolo recorded in studio with Blues Breakout Trio and
participated to the short Italian tour
in witch they presented their CD ''The Best Of ...''. Paolo Pizzi
contributed to this CD also as co-producer.
Since December 2007 he work as a music teacher (modern guitar and
electric bass) at
2007 and 2008 saw Paolo touring with Dobro Country Rock Band
(Dobro's third European tour with the new line up), Gold Rush Acoustic Trio
as a stable member and with Country Ride Band (New-Country) and
During 2009 Paolo continued
his position as bass player with his traditional bands (Dobro Country Rock
Band, Gold Rush Acoustic
Trio).
On May-2009 he has joined
Full Of Dance cover band (Rock Covers) and toured all over
After the DOBRO CRB SUMMER
TOUR 2009 and so many years spent with them Paolo Pizzi decided to stop the collaboration
with Dobro Country Rock Band ,
but the real job goes on…
and autumn/winter 2009-2010 sees Paolo touring in
